Abstract: Ad-hoc and sensor Networking is one of the hottest areas of research in telecommunications and computer engineering. These networks have many challenges which can be abbreviated to the telecommunication traffic, energy consumption and routing security. In this paper, our aim is performance improvement of a Dense underwater sensor network (DUSN) based on the VBF routing protocol via cubic depth zoning (CDZ-VBF). In fact, CDZ-VBF causes while packet delivery ratio (PDR) is in saturation mode, reducing energy consumption will be happen and so it improves network reliability. Cross layer policies can improve parameters such as traffic and energy consumption. Therefore, zone establishment improves routing performance and actually aims achievement will be occurred.
